Who will do the testing? How can I be sure the procedure is safe and the results are reliable?

pH Labs uses the most advanced medical technology for the collection and analysis of samples (saliva, urine, sweat, blood) for our proprietary pH tests. Fully licensed medical technicians and doctors do all the work and we have partnered with the nation’s leading laboratories to provide you with the most sophisticated and reliable testing available today. Our staff and partners have all undergone a very rigorous certification process that has been approved, and is used by, our nation’s leading health care organizations. We can assure you that your pH test will be comfortable, quick and safe.

Are my results confidential?
pH Labs respects your privacy and maintains your results in strict confidence. You are the ONLY one who receives pH results unless you specify otherwise, with a signed HIPAA release.
I like the idea, but I am very busy. How much of a time commitment are we talking about?

Most pH tests take less than a half hour. So when you make an appointment for your pH Health Assessment or any of our tests, rest assured that you be seen promptly and will be on your way in almost no time at all. For our even more convenience and flexibility, consider our Platinum Membership, which includes home visits for lab test through our exclusive concierge service.

If I'm eating the right foods, working out and leading a healthy lifestyle, I'm probably pretty healthy, right?

Even if you lead a healthy lifestyle, this unfortunately doesn’t mean that you are healthy. Many serious medical conditions including certain cancers and heart disease exist for a long time in your body without noticeable symptoms. Early detection of these diseases may be achieved through a pH lab test and is your best defense. A simple blood test can increase your chances of reversing potential problems early, and establish a baseline of your normal ranges from which future tests can be compared and monitored.

It’s better to know what your risks may be so you can take proactive steps to protect your health. The pH Health Assessment looks for things and provides the results in a way that most annual physicals don’t. These are important tools in empowering you to protect your health. You can access this information as well as a wide variety of helpful tools and tips 24/7 on our web site.

I am concerned about what to do if my pH Health Assessment identifies anything. Do I really want to know?

Having concerns about our health is totally natural and understandable. In fact, your concerns about your health and how you can better protect it is why you’re here! Your pH Health Assessment will tell you about a lot of things. It will help you see the positive benefit and impact of the good things you may be doing, such as diet and exercise, as well as the progress of any regimens you and your doctor may have decided is right for you.

If your pH Health Assessment identifies anything that may need your attention, you’ll be learning about it before you have any symptoms and when your treatment most likely would be less costly, less time consuming and with a better probability of outcome. So knowing what is going on in your body creates a win-win for you. Can you really afford to not know?

Healthcare is for doctors, not people like me. Shouldn’t I just let my doctor do his job?

You are ultimately responsible for taking care of your health just as you are for many other decisions or activities in your life. While we have one of the most advanced health care systems in the world, in the end we need to partner with our health care providers to ensure we enjoy optimum health since they can’t do it alone.

More and more people are also seeing the value and benefit of taking a more active role in protecting their health and are looking for ways to prevent getting sick in the first place rather than treating or curing something once it happens. And this is the whole idea behind pH – identifying possible disease before it happens and helping you stay healthy longer. Our approach literally gives you an early warning system about your health so that you can best partner with your health care provider in taking care of number one – you!

My doctor does all my health tests already, so what benefit would I get from pH Labs?

pH Labs generally identifies more comprehensive and relevant tests than most doctors. pH Labs is a complement to all the positive things you may already be doing, such as diet, exercise and regular visits with your doctor. What pH Labs does do is give you the information and tools you need to play a more proactive role in protecting your health and to make you a better partner with your doctor in making decisions about how to maximize the benefit of your healthcare and lifestyle choices

Do I need a doctor’s order to use pH Labs services?

Depending on which state you live in, you may need a doctor’s order for some of the different pH Labs screening tests. If your state requires such an order for specific tests, you can consult with one of our pH Labs’ board-certified physicians, who will work with you to determine which tests may be most appropriate for your individual situation.

How will I receive my pH test results?

You can choose to view your tests results online, receive via email or pick up in person at a pH health center.

Can I share my results with my doctor?

Yes, if you chose to, you may share your results with your doctor. With your permission, your doctor will be able to securely access your results on the internet or you can print a copy of your report and take to him, or we can send it directly. pH labs encourages you to review your test results with a doctor who is best trained to properly evaluate pH results and determine a course of action.

What if I don’t have a personal physician. Can I still use pH services?

Yes, you can and we encourage you to do so. In addition to our testing and pH products, we also have a team of doctors ready to meet with you in one of our member centers.

If I’m a doctor, can I send my patient to pH Labs for testing?

Yes, you can refer your patients to pH labs for testing.

Is my payment information secure?

To protect you and your credit card information, we use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology, which is the industry standard and among the best software available for secure commerce transactions. SSL sends your credit card number to our computer in an encrypted code, which only we can decode.

Do I need an appointment?

Scheduling an appointment is recommended to guarantee that your test is done at a time that is most convenient for you. However, you do not need an appointment to visit our health centers.

Can I use my insurance to pay for this?

In some instances insurance will pay for our services.

Memberships in pH Labs seem a little expensive to me. What are my lower cost options?

pH Labs offers a pH Lite membership at a minimal cost. But to give you an idea of how affordable pH Labs memberships is, our basic membership costs less than a cup of coffee a day. When you consider that joining pH Labs is perhaps one of the best things you can do to protect your health, it provides you with a very attractive return on investment both in terms of peace of mind and in avoiding future, significant health costs. The most important thing in life is health.

To make an analogy, you routinely pay for oil changes and or other diagnostics on your car to keep it running at peak performance, and to avoid costly repairs. pH Labs lets you do the same but with something far more important than your car, which, of course, is your health.

Is pH a medical corporation? Is pH owned by physicians?

Proactive Health Labs (pH Labs) is not a medical corporation nor is it owned by physicians. We also are not licensed as a “healing arts practitioner” in the State of California (we may be licensed differently in other states in which we operate). pH does, however, work closely with recognized, leading medical experts and doctors from such disciplines as family health, aging, cardiology, endocrinology, nutrition, gastroenterology, weight management and exercise to help consumers achieve optimal health. Our ongoing work with these specialists is managed by the pH Medical Advisory Board, which closely monitors all pH programs, products and services to ensure they exceed all regulatory requirements as well as our own high standards. To learn more about the pH Medical Advisory Board, just follow this link.

Is pH permitted by the State of California to provide medical treatments?

pH’s mission is to give consumers the information and tools they need to proactively achieve optimal health. We do this by recommending non-toxic products that our members should use, by identifying imbalances and deficiencies in the body, and by educating consumers on how to address these before they potentially lead to medical disorders or disease. For consumers that already may have a medical disorder or disease, pH may help them identify the imbalance or deficiency that caused it so that the consumer can better discuss their health condition with their health care provider. As such, it is not our goal to provide medical treatments. However, if pH ever does so, it will have fully complied with Sections 2053.5 and 2053.6 of the California Business and Professions Code, which allows companies such as pH to provide alternative or complementary services to consumers.

In addition, note that:

  • pH retains the services of licensed physicians to provide services that fall within the purview of Sections 2053.5 and 2053.6 above.
  • If there are certain services that pH itself is not legally able to perform, pH refers such services to competent and licensed medical practitioners.
  • The advice pH offers is “complementary” to that provided by licensed physicians.
  • These complementary services performed by pH as an entity are entirely legal in the State of California.

If you ever have any concerns about the nature of any advice you receive at pH, please feel free to contact us. If you have a primary care practitioner, be sure to let them know that you received advice from us.
