Pharmaceutical and packaged goods giant Johnson & Johnson recently recalled five of their aerosol spray sunscreen products.
A recent study conducted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) found evidence which suggested that chemicals in sunscreen are absorbed into the body “at levels that raise some safety questions,” according to one report discussing the study.
Sunlight exposure has many health benefits, including vitamin D and mood elevation. But it may also have unwanted effects like sunburn, skin cancer and premature aging.
